Semiosis Process and Meaning-Making on Bron’s Menu

This research aimed to know the semiosis process and meaning-making about how words pictures on menu can contribute better business achieving customer satisfaction by applying theories from Pierce (1996) Ogilvy (1985). Data were taken BRON – The Urban café's menu, especially in snack oriental categories. data collected reading list, observing picture of checking appropriateness between words. then analyzed using Ogilvy's theories. analysis showed that representamen, object, interpretant are interrelated present uniqueness authenticity Café’s menus such as garlic cassava, vegetarian spring rolls, crispy banana French fries, nasi goreng nusantara. with list is mostly accurate implicit, but it still known acceptable due customer’s familiarity cooking techniques, ingredients, serving food also effect brand image, relevance preexisting knowledge, big idea, others.
